Mock Audition Night

Join Singers' Workshops @ TC with special guest, Dr. Trineice Robinson-Martin! Students will have the opportunity to perform with a pianist and get individualized feedback on a 16-bar audition cut of their choosing!

Internationally recognized as one of the leading pedagogues in gospel and soul voice training, Dr. Trineice Robinson-Martin specializes in vocal pedagogy and style parameters for African American folk-based music styles (i.e. jazz, pop, gospel, R&B, and Blues). As the creator of Soul Ingredients ® , a methodology for nurturing vocal freedom and authentic musical interpretation and expression, Dr. Robinson-Martin regularly travels nationally and internationally performing jazz, gospel and R&B; teaching private voice; and giving lectures and workshops. In addition to teaching jazz voice and directing the Jazz Vocal Collective ensemble at Princeton University, Dr. Robinson-Martin runs a private voice teaching studio in Lawrenceville, NJ; serves as part of the national faculty of Gospel Music Workshop of America, Inc.; is the Executive Director of the African American Jazz Caucus, Inc.; is a Director for Jazz Education Network (JEN) organization, and is the author of the newly released book titled So You Want to Sing Gospel.

Students in The Process of Performance will present an evening of eclectic repertoire from classical, to Broadway, to pop/rock, showcasing their work from the past term.

September 26th 2019 - December 19th, 2019

The Process of Performance has been re-designed to assist all singers in preparation for a musical journey, including vocal development and musicianship while developing confidence in an inclusive environment. Students will also work on preparation for auditions for solo and ensemble opportunities including the Specialized Schools in NYC.  Students will sing a variety of repertoire, practice auditioning ("Mock Auditions"), and culminate the term in collaborative performance in December. The program is open to all interested in singing.

Our alumni attend LaGuardia, PPAS, and other prestigious schools in NYC.

  • Ages 11–17

  • Meets Thursdays, 4:30 pm -6:00 pm

  • Tuition: $400 per semester

  • Includes special events like Mock Audition Workshops with Special Industry Guests

Building upon the skills developed in The Process of Performance, musical theater repertoire and performance is the focus for this workshop.  Music will be chosen based on the strengths of each individual singer to provide a range of styles (from "legit" to "pop" and "CCM").  Selections are semi-staged for a final performance. 

Past performance have included original songs written by our team specifically for the Workshop.

Musical Theater Workshop culminates with a staged theatrical performance!
